Challenger Center recognizes that our mission to inspire students to pursue excellence in education requires that we attain the same standard in our programs and classroom materials.
Exploring space has always fascinated me and science education has always been my passion. It is amazing to me that I get to carry on one of the core missions of the Challenger crew, education. It is a great opportunity and honor to be able to continue this mission.
Each year, through our diverse programs, Challenger Centers
across the United States reaches almost 1 million students, teachers, and families. To ensure that these programs are scientifically accurate and educationally sound, Challenger Center utilizes the talents of a skilled group of space science researchers and educators.
Finally, every lesson, activity, and presentation offered by Challenger Center is written and reviewed by our educators and space science researchers.
Space Science Research
Students in a rural town are visited in their classrooms by researchers from NASA. Travelers to Washington, D.C., take an unexpected walking tour through the Solar System. And teachers transform the morning's space news developments into lessons during the school day. These experiences and more are courtesy of our Space Science Research department.
Education
The Challenger 51-L mission was to have been the flight that would take students all over the world on "the ultimate field trip." Challenger Center continues that mission's goal by launching students into space-based curriculum every school day.

Researchers and Educators
Meet the Challenger Center staff scientists and educators who share a unique vocation; they are tasked with introducing young explorers to the universe. These professionals not only help to create many of Challenger Center's programs, but they actively work with communities, teachers, and students to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for space science.
